How loss and success laid the foundation for financial innovation

Olomon didn't start with a market thesis. It started with a filing cabinet, a family in grief, and a gap that decades later still hadn't been filled. So we built the first true financial record that keeps up with your life.

Our story

Our origin story

1993

When Jeremy, Founder of Olomon, was 11, he lost his father to cancer. In the midst of their grief, his family was fortunate to have what they needed to cover the mounting medical bills and move forward. Things were simpler then, records were kept in a filing cabinet, and his organized father prepared them well. And still, Jeremy felt sudden pressure to step up for his family in a time of great need. That sense of responsibility never left him.

“Losing my dad so young gave me a sense that life is finite. It pushed me toward entrepreneurship, and made me determined to build a life where I could be present and supportive for my own children, to not miss the moments that matter, and to leave a legacy of security and care.”

28 years later, Jeremy faced a new challenge. After several ventures and a growing estate, he sold his software company, Kindful, to a private equity company, JMI. This moment of celebration felt overwhelming.

He was suddenly responsible for managing new assets, navigating complex tax scenarios, and making high-stakes investment decisions.

“At Kindful, we had built this aggregated system that gave nonprofits a powerful system of record for their fundraising and administrative needs,” he said. “But, ironically, I was struggling to keep my own financial records timely and accurate, and my advisors weren't set up to help me.”

Everything felt fragmented, scattered across platforms, advisors, and spreadsheets. It's like the info he needed got lost in a black hole.

He'd discovered a glaring absence in personal finance, effective collaboration and visibility. He'd hired a financial advisor, an estate attorney, and other professionals, expecting some cohesion to emerge. But instead, everything remained siloed.

Over time, he realized something critical: No one could pull the pieces together for him. It wasn't a failure of his team, it was a gap in the tools. If he wanted a true grasp on his finances, he had to figure it out himself.

“I needed to know my numbers. Not just in a static report, but in real time, with context and insight.”

So he brought in his former CFO to help build a living balance sheet. But the moment it was done, it was already outdated. New investments were made. Values shifted. Assets were sold. And that didn't begin to cover the higher-level KPIs he needed to make meaningful decisions. Plus, he found himself repeating the same information to different advisors, wasting countless hours trying to get aligned.

2023

That's when the vision for Olomon became clear. People needed a smarter way to see their whole financial picture and collaborate with their financial team, an easy way to connect the dots in real time between assets, liabilities, entities, and advisors.

So Jeremy reached out to his former teammates and they began building the solution: a powerful new financial tool that would offer true peace of mind to wealth holders and their loved ones, setting them up for a fulfilling future. With his award-winning team supporting his vision, Olomon took shape.

And here we are today, welcoming you into your new financial home base, where you too can experience financial confidence and clarity.

Mission

Where financial reality lives

Your financial life is one of the most important things you'll ever steward. But there's no single place it lives. No record that holds everything together, keeps up with your life, and follows you forward.

Data sits in fragments. Advisors piece things together from what you can find. Families scramble when something goes wrong.

Olomon is the Financial System of Record -- the canonical layer between where advisors manage relationships and where planning tools run projections. One record, owned by you, shared with your professional team on your terms.

How we build

Five principles guide every product decision, every hire, and every conversation.

01

Own the System of Record

We are the source of truth — not a viewer, not a dashboard, not a wrapper. The canonical layer. If something is true about a household’s financial life, it should be structured, current, and findable in Olomon.

02

Filter for Gravity

Ship what increases accuracy, context, trust, durability, and multiplayer reliance. If a feature doesn’t increase the gravitational pull of the record, it doesn’t ship.

03

Build for the Long Term

Calm UX. Durable structure. Clarity over cleverness. We’re building something people rely on for decades — not something that dazzles for a demo.

04

Hold Conviction Without Rigidity

Stubborn on category. Flexible on tactics. We know what we’re building and why it matters. We listen intently to how it should work.

05

Define the Default

Build toward inevitability. When someone asks ‘where does my financial life live?’ — the answer should be Olomon. Not because we market it, but because it’s true.

Conviction

This is inevitable

Financial complexity is only growing -- more accounts, more entities, more professionals, more regulations, more data. The current model, where financial reality lives inside advisor software and client filing cabinets, can't scale.

Families want ownership of their financial record. Advisors want structured, always-current client data.

The industry needs a canonical layer that connects planning, compliance, collaboration, and intelligence.

The gap was real. We built the solution.
